This collection of images started with an idea about layers in photographs, specifically physical layers. I wanted to be able to add layers to an original photograph, one way being through re-photographing an image through a medium, like water. After re-photographing, I took the image into Photoshop where I added more layers digitally to create an image full of depth. I really enjoyed this interplay between physically manipulating the image, as well as digitally. I found that I was much more connected to work that I was making when I physically had a hand in creating the image.
